I consult in three broad areas: qualitative analysis of terrorism and counterterrorism, digital organizing, and online communications. Please get in touch to talk about the specifics of your project and my rates.
Qualitative Analysis of Terrorism and Counterterrorism
Independent research centers, nonprofit watchdogs, and global networks are doing some of the most important and innovative work right now on white supremacist violence and government counterterrorism efforts. I can help design interview- and text-based research strategies and offer insights into the political incentives motivating state actors and legislative actions. As the former communications director for the Teaching Assistants’ Association, the oldest graduate worker labor union in the United States, I have extensive experience managing, publicizing, and framing labor activism online, and I continue to coordinate actions and public releases for department and nationwide organizing efforts. I’ve also run workshops and developed training materials on social media, internal coordination, and working with the press. I will never charge graduate or undergraduate labor groups for this work.
Prior to graduate school, I consulted freelance for national nonprofits; with local political organizations in Galesburg, IL; and in the food and beverage industry in Washington, DC. My experience covers social media marketing, copywriting, editing, and web design. I am particularly excited about projects that combine my interests in social media campaigns and social justice issues.
